Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday sought the intervention of the Election Commission of India (ECI) from distribution of election gifts by the ruling YSR Congress Party as part of inducements to the voters.
In a memo to ECI on seizure of a ‘huge dump of election gifts’ in Tirupati, party advocate Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar said, in violation of Model Code of Conduct, TDP activists identified a huge dump of election gifts stored for distribution to voters with YSRCP logos, symbols, photos and suspected several such dumps in and around Tirupati.
TDP leaders in Vijayawada also alleged a container truck with a police sticker going towards the Chief Minister’s camp office violating one-way traffic rules at Tadepalli near here.
